Your new company This established and successful organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join its Hobart-based team. Working within a collaborative finance function, you will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting business operations and ensuring customer transactions are processed efficiently.Your new role Reporting to the Head of Finance and Business Operations, you will be responsible for managing accounts receivable activities and supporting day-to-day finance administration functions. This hands-on role offers exposure across Finance, Sales and Projects while providing opportunities to improve systems and processes.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Daily bank reconciliations
  • Processing customer deposits and maintaining accurate ERP records
  • Generating sales orders and customer invoices
  • Reconciling cash, sales, purchase and inventory ledgers
  • Processing new customer applications
  • Monitoring customer payments and following up on overdue accounts
  • Managing customer retentions and bank guarantees
  • Preparing work in progress and trial balance reports
  • Assisting with financial reporting and finance administration activities
  • Identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives
What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor of Commerce with an Accounting major or similar qualification
  • Minimum three years' experience in a Finance Assistant or similar finance role
  • Strong accounts receivable and reconciliation experience
  • Essential NetSuite ERP experience
  • Sound understanding of GST requirements
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication, customer service and time management skills
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach
  • Ability to work effectively to deadlines and across multiple teams
  • Experience working within a business with multiple revenue streams and exposure to sales reporting or forecasting activities will be highly regarded
