Kai Rho Contracting is seeking a FIFO Trainee Operator for Tropicana Gold Mine, located near Perth, WA. This contract role offers hands-on training under experienced operators to develop skills in plant operation within a demanding mining environment.

The trainee will learn plant and equipment operation, safety procedures and daily operational routines, with on-site mentoring and access to training modules.

• Prior mining operations or heavy equipment experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Desirable qualifications such as a white card or plant operator tickets.

Responsabilidades

FIFO Trainee Operator, Tropicana Gold Mine

Kai Rho Contracting is seeking a FIFO Trainee Operator to join our operations team at Tropicana Gold Mine, located in Perth, WA 6000. This is a Contract position on a fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) basis, offering an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to launch a career in FIFO mining operations. As a Trainee Operator, you will work under the guidance of experienced operators to develop practical skills in plant and equipment operation within a dynamic mining environment. This role is integral to maintaining safe and efficient operations at one of Australia's premier gold mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operating and monitoring mining plant and equipment under supervision and direction
• Conducting pre-start and routine equipment checks to ensure safe operational standards
• Assisting experienced operators with equipment maintenance tasks and daily operational procedures
• Maintaining accurate logbooks and operational records as required
• Following all safety protocols, procedures and standard operating procedures on site
• Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors regarding operational status and concerns
• Participating in toolbox meetings, safety briefings and training sessions
• Completing assigned training modules and certifications as part of the development programme
• Responding promptly to operational incidents and contributing to investigations where applicable
• Supporting the site team to achieve production targets whilst maintaining safety standards

What we're looking for

• A valid Heavy Rigid driver's license and willingness to work on a FIFO roster (typically 8 days on, 6 days off)
• A genuine interest in developing a career in mining operations
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety at all times
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from supervisors
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Physical fitness and the ability to meet the physical demands of the role
• Willingness to obtain relevant certifications and undertake ongoing training
• A positive attitude and reliability in meeting attendance requirements
• Prior experience in mining operations, heavy equipment operation or similar industries is advantageous but not essential
• Relevant qualifications such as a white card (construction induction) or plant operator tickets are desirable
