Job summary

ChoiceOne in Western Australia is seeking an experienced Drill Fitter to join our team on a FIFO 2:1 roster, working on large production Caterpillar drill rigs such as CAT 640/650. The role focuses on maintaining, repairing and rebuilding production drill rigs to keep them safe, reliable and efficient.

The ideal candidate will hold a mechanical trade qualification, extensive experience on heavy mobile plant and drill rigs, strong hydraulic skills and a proven ability to diagnose faults and

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified fitter with Australian certification.
• Extensive experience on production drill rigs and heavy mobile plant.
• Strong hydraulic capabilities and fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete major drill rig rebuilds and overhauls.
• Carry out mechanical inspections, repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Perform major component overhauls and rebuilds.
• Undertake equipment upgrades and life-extension programs.
• Diagnose complex mechanical and hydraulic faults.
• Carry out specialist hydraulic diagnostics and fault finding.
• Repair and overhaul hydraulic components.
• Identify opportunities for hydraulic system optimisation and performance improvements.
• Work safely and efficiently in a high-production mining environment.
• Ensure all maintenance and repair work is completed to a high standard and within required timeframes.
