Job summary

EDU Holdings is seeking a Fieldwork Placement Coordinator - Community Services to lead the sourcing, execution and quality assurance of fieldwork placements for Bachelor of Community Services students. You will work with Ikon Institute and industry partners to ensure academic alignment and regulatory compliance.

The role is a 12-month fixed-term maternity leave cover based in Brisbane, with responsibilities spanning placement operations, policy development, and stakeholder engagement to support

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in Social Work, Community Services, Social Welfare, or Human Services; minimum 5 years relevant industry experience.
• Full membership or eligibility for full membership of the Community Work Australia (CWA).
• Knowledge of contemporary developments in community services informed by scholarship/practice.
• Experience supervising community services students in work-based contexts.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication; ability to manage sensitive matters with confidentiality and discretion.
• Strong problem-solving, organisational, and analytical abilities with multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Understanding of accreditation requirements and CWA Code of Ethics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn business systems/databases.

• Attend school meetings and complete required reporting in line with AQF and regulatory requirements.

About the role

The Campus Field Placement Coordinator leads the sourcing, execution, and quality assurance of fieldwork placements for Bachelor of Community Services students on campus. Working alongside the Ikon Work Placement Team and industry partners, the role serves as the primary academic contact for placement subjects, ensures compliance with accreditation standards, and supports student development through ethical, real-world learning.

This is a 12-month, fixed term maternity leave cover

Key Responsibilities

• Manage systems and processes to support the coordination of community services field placements.
• Build and maintain relationships with community, government, and professional organisations to establish and implement diverse field placement opportunities to support student learning needs.
• Collaborate with Academic staff and Academic Liaison Visitors to develop and implement policies and procedures, assessment strategies, manuals, online resources, and systems for fieldwork placements.
• Collaborate with the Work Placement Team to approve and administer fieldwork placement agreements and reviews with organisations and agencies ensuring compliance with the Community Work Australia (CWA, formerly ACWA) Accreditation Guidelines.
• Maintain comprehensive records of student participation and performance in fieldwork placement in collaboration with the Work Placement Team, Academic Staff, and Academic Liaison Visitors to uphold academic standards, support student success, and meet regulatory requirements.
• Design, coordinate, and deliver preparation, induction, and support workshops to equip students for fieldwork placements and enhance their readiness for professional practice.
• Recruit, train, and support Academic Liaison Visitors, providing professional development to ensure they are equipped for their roles and responsibilities in relation to the fieldwork placements.
• Actively develop and foster a positive and supportive culture across all aspects of the Community Services field placement program at the campus level.
• Embrace and model the fundamental values of Ikon and ensure these characteristics are consistently applied across all aspects of course delivery and fieldwork placement.
• Attend periodic School meetings, subject meetings and student consultations as required.
• Complete and submit all trimester teaching and learning reporting requirements as determined by the Head of School, Academic Program Coordinator or Dean.
• Assist in ensuring that academic operations are conducted in accordance with the AQF, CWA, ESOS and the National Code.
• Undertake and engage in scholarly practice and professional development as determined by the Head of School, Academic Program Coordinator or Dean.
• Adhere to Ikon’s guidelines, policies and practices to achieve its performance objectives.
• Other general duties as determined by the Head of School, Academic Program Coordinator or Dean.

Education, Experience & Skills

• A Bachelor Degree or higher in Social Work, Community Services, Social Welfare, or Human Services, and a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience.
• Full membership, or eligibility for full membership, of the Community Work Australia (CWA).
• Knowledge of contemporary developments in the community services sector informed by continuing scholarship and/or practice.
• Experience in supervising community services students in work-based contexts.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the capacity to establish and maintain collaborative relationships and handle complex or sensitive matters with professionalism, confidentiality, empathy, and discretion.
• Advanced problem-solving, organisational, and analytical abilities, including the capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet competing deadlines with accuracy, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.
• Demonstrated understanding of the accreditation requirements and Code of Ethics of Community Work Australia (CWA).
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of programs and demonstrated ability to learn, implement and promote the use of business systems and databases
