Job summary

Boart Longyear is expanding its workforce for surface drilling operations and is seeking a Field Trainer with a strong commitment to Health & Safety and teamwork. The role is an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth, with site-based and on-site training responsibilities.

Deliver training aligned with nationally recognised qualifications, assess competency, and develop resources. You will coach trainees from offsiders to competent drillers while ensuring WHS compliance and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in drilling operations or as a drill trainer.
• TAE40116/TAE40122 certificate required.
• Understanding of competency-based training and assessment.
• Experience in mining, civil, or resources environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training and assessments aligned with qualifications and client needs.
• Facilitate practical on-site training and classroom deliveries.
• Conduct competency assessments and maintain training records.
• Develop and update training materials and resources.
• Provide coaching to trainees and crews from offsiders to competent drillers.
• Ensure compliance with WHS, policies and regulatory standards.
• Liaise with supervisors to identify training needs.
• Participate in continuous improvement of training programs.
