Job summary

Thales is seeking a Field Service Technician to join the Scylla In Service Support Team at our Rockingham site. You will maintain and repair complex sensor systems fitted to Collins class submarines and other defence assets, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to ISS contract requirements.

Based on site, you will lead technical maintenance tasks, communicate with supervisors, document activities in information systems, and support inventory operations.

Qualifications

• Cert IV Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in fault finding with analysis and documentation.
• Knowledge of networking IT is desirable.
• Experience in a Defence or Defence Industry environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and/or repair tasks professionally.
• Lead the technical aspects of a maintenance task.
• Communicate with Supervisors and Maintenance Managers, ensuring task progression and reporting of issues.
• Develop documents and capture information within information systems relating to maintenance/repair activities.
• Assist Inventory Management to receipt, packaging and despatch GFE/CFE as required.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Field Service Technician to join the Scylla In Service Support Team maintaining and repairing complex Sensor Systems fitted to Collins class Submarines.

As a Field Service technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing state of the art equipment fitted to RAN ships, submarines, and land-based sites, ensuring optimal performance. Your key focus will be on supporting Thales equipment fitted to Collins Class Submarines under the ISS Contract.

YOUR ROLE

Working at our Rockingham site on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk and Binjareb Nyoongar peoples, your role purpose will be:

• The successful and professional conduct of maintenance and / or repair tasks
• Leading the technical aspects of a maintenance task
• Communicating with Supervisors and Maintenance Managers, ensuring task progression and relevant issues are reported
• Develop documents & capture of information within information systems relating to the conduct of maintenance and/or repair activities
• Assisting the Inventory Management team to receipt, packaging and despatch GFE/CFE as required

About You

To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:

• Cert IV Electronic Engineering or equivalent with at least 3 years relevant industry experience
• Certificate or training in Information Technology (networking) is desirable
• Experience in fault finding including analysis and documentation of process and results.
• Previous experience working within a Defence or Defence Industry environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced skills in MS Office
