Job summary

Bunzl Australasia in Gladstone is seeking a Mobile Service Technician for our Field Inspection team. You’ll inspect and test lifting and rigging equipment, produce chain slings and wire ropes, and issue compliant test reports, on site and in our workshop.

You'll travel to client sites including mines, with paid overtime and travel allowances, supported by a proactive manager and team. This role suits mechanically minded individuals with rigging knowledge and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Mechanical mindset with exposure to production or equipment servicing.
• Experience in lifting, rigging, or height safety is highly regarded.
• Willingness to travel to client sites, including mines.
• Knowledge of WH&S regulations and rigging qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Inspect lifting, rigging, and height safety equipment on site and in house.
• Produce and test chain slings and wire ropes.
• Complete and issue compliance test reports.
• Travel to client sites with paid overtime and travel allowances.
• Support production and warehouse tasks when required.

YOUR ROLE

Join our Gladstone based Field Inspection team as a Mobile Service Technician with full training provided. You’ll be inspecting and testing lifting and rigging equipment, producing chain slings and wire ropes, issuing test reports to NATA and ISO standards, and working both on site and in our workshop. You’ll enjoy the freedom to work independently, backed by a supportive manager and collaborative team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Inspecting lifting, rigging, and height safety equipment on site and in house
• Producing and testing chain slings and wire ropes
• Completing and issuing compliance test reports
• Travelling to client sites, including mines, with paid overtime and travel allowances
• Supporting production and warehouse tasks when required

ABOUT YOU

You’re mechanically minded, ideally with a background in production, manufacturing, or equipment servicing. Experience in lifting, rigging, or height safety is highly regarded, along with:

• Relevant rigging qualifications and knowledge of WH&S regulations
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Willingness to travel and work flexibly, including outside standard hours
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing tasks
• A proactive, team focused approach
