Job summary

Down 2 Earth Equipment Pty Ltd – Rockhampton QLD is seeking a qualified Field Service Technician to diagnose, service and repair heavy diesel machinery across Central Queensland. The role combines on-site field work with workshop support for repairs and scheduled maintenance.

The successful candidate will be a trade-qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter with 3–4 years post-trade experience, strong diagnostic skills, and a commitment to safety. Australian citizenship is required with no sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Heavy Diesel Fitter.
• 3–4 years post-trade experience.
• Field service experience preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
• Experience across multiple equipment brands preferred.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Current driver’s license; HR license desirable.
• Ability to work independently and in a workshop.
• Excellent communication and a positive attitude.
• Australian citizenship required; no sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to diagnose, repair and maintain heavy diesel machinery and equipment.
• Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance in field and workshop.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Complete job cards and service reports accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain a high standard of safety, workmanship and attention to detail.
• Provide professional customer service while representing Down 2 Earth Equipment.
• Work independently in the field and collaboratively within the workshop team.
