Field Research Officer - NT - Darwin (V ) Darwin, Australia
Salary : AUD - AUD per hour + 12% Super
Join Roy Morgan and be part of a team conducting face-to-face interviews that capture the views, experiences, and behaviours of Australians.
Our Field Research Officers play a vital role in collecting accurate, high-quality data that informs government, business, and community decisions across the country.
Visit assigned households and confidently initiate conversations at the door
Build rapport quickly, manage refusals and objections respectfully, and ensure informed consent
Conduct accurate, structured interviews on a wide range of topics
Record observations, follow safety and privacy protocols, and maintain strict confidentiality
Plan your weekly schedule to meet agreed hours, including at least one weekend day
All interviews are conducted using Roy Morgan's secure systems.
We provide full training, a clear field manual, and ongoing support from experienced field managers.

Empathetic communicator: You listen well, handle sensitive topics with care, and adapt your style to suit different households.
Organised self-starter: You manage your time, plan routes, keep tidy records, and meet targets without constant supervision.
Tech-comfortable: You're confident with tablets and following on-screen scripts / protocols.
Nice-to-have: experience in field interviewing, door-to-door outreach, call centre / customer service, community work, or education services.
Purpose with impact: Your work will contribute to vital data that supports decision-making at the highest levels.
Flexibility with structure: Choose your weekly schedule (with minimum hours) and work close to home where possible.
Training & support: We equip you with the skills, tools and guidance to succeed—no previous research experience required.
Professional standards: Be part of a respected team known for quality, accuracy and confidentiality.
Availability of 20+ hours per week (including one weekend day; flexibility to add hours at peak times)
Current driver's licence and a reliable, registered vehicle
Fluent English (spoken and written) and the legal right to work in Australia
Willingness to obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children's Check (paid by Roy Morgan)
