About The Role

In this role, you will be part of a team that keeps our city clean, green and running smoothly. You’ll play a hands‑on role in delivering high‑quality waste and recycling services across the community — from inspecting and maintaining litter bins to supporting kerbside collection operations. Every day brings variety as you respond to service requests, help resolve issues, and ensure our residents and businesses receive exceptional service. Work type: Permanent Full Time.

Classification: Band 3 commencing at $68,775 pa plus super.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake inspections, audits, deliveries, retrievals and repairs for commercial, public place, and residential bins to support effective waste collection services.
  • Record and maintain accurate data in the City’s customer and request management systems.
  • Conduct volume and presentation audits to ensure bin cleanliness, proper use, and compliance with service standards.
  • Deliver letters, notices and apply bin stickers to support communication with residents and businesses.
  • Plan and organise daily tasks efficiently, maintaining appropriate stock levels and are equipped for fieldwork.
  • Work collaboratively and safely, building positive relationships, following City values, and contributing to continuous improvement and workplace safety.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have the opportunity to put your repair and maintenance skills into action, working hands‑on as a practical problem‑solver and handyman. You’ll enjoy a physically active role, performing tasks that make a real difference in keeping our city clean and well‑maintained, while following Occupational Health and Safety guidelines to work safely and effectively.

Essential Experience
  • to use IT tablets in the field.
  • Ability to manage the planning and organising of own work schedule to meet priorities for allocated work and proactive repairs.
  • Ability to provide accurate documentation for completed tasks information, which may be paper based, or use mobile tablet/phone.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to gain cooperation from residents and business clients and the ability to follow instructions, demonstrate basic writing and speaking skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proven experience as a team member in area of expertise.
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
  • Current Working with Children Check (employee).
  • Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
