Job summary

Weir Group in NSW seeks a skilled Mechanical Fitter for field service and workshop support. Rebuilds, repairs, and pump maintenance will be performed across Sydney, Hunter Valley, and Central West, requiring reading drawings and adherence to quality standards.

You will travel to sites, with overtime as needed, contributing to continuous improvement while maintaining safety and equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• Cert III in Mechanical Engineering (essential).
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in workshop or onsite environments.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals for pump maintenance.
• Valid manual driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform rebuilds and overhauls on pumps, including stripping, measuring, reassembly, balancing, testing, and final reports.
• Provide field service with workshop backup across Sydney, Hunter Valley, and Central West.
• Complete repairs in line with Quality Manual; document wear, corrosion, faults with photos for reports.
• Suggest improvements to products, services, and procedures to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Conduct daily maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on pumps, crushers, valves, and conveyors.
• Travel regularly to various sites with allowances; overtime and weekend work as needed.
• Uphold safety commitments and zero-harm culture.
