Job summary

The Queensland Government, Electric Safety Office (ESO), seeks a Senior Electrical Safety Inspector for the Mackay/Cairns region. This mobile, field-based role delivers statewide compliance and engagement programs, responds to incidents, and collaborates with industry to improve electrical safety risk management.

Qualifications

• Current Queensland electrical work license is desirable.
• Ability to interpret, apply and elementise legislation in a regulatory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, apply and elementise legislation in a regulatory capacity.
• Write reports of incidents and complaints.
• Identify and enforce breaches of legislation.
• Participate in the targeted auditing and engagement program to monitor and assess compliance with Electrical Safety legislation.
• Investigate electrical incidents and complaints.
• Provide technical advice to investigations teams.
• Prepare and review disciplinary action referrals for the independent Electrical Licensing Committee.
