Job summary

Essential Energy is recruiting a permanent Electrical Fitter for the Essential Water team based in Broken Hill. The role delivers maintenance, construction, inspection and operation of electrical assets across the water network, with a focus on safety and reliability.

Based in Broken Hill, you will work in a collaborative field-based team performing switching, testing and fault-finding, and contribute to operational programs that support regional communities.

Qualifications

• Experience applying electrical trade skills in a utility, water, industrial or distribution setting.
• Knowledge of electrical infrastructure maintenance, testing, fault finding and repair.
• Experience with high/low voltage switching and permit systems.

Responsibilities

• Undertake construction, maintenance, inspection and repair of electrical systems and assets within the water business.
• Conduct inspection, testing and verification activities and prepare reports on installations and water infrastructure.
• Perform switching and operating work for water network electrical assets per approved practices.
• Operate plant and equipment used in electrical construction and maintenance.
• Contribute to safety culture and comply with safety, environmental and asset management requirements.
