Job summary

Sutherland Shire Council is seeking an Invasive Species Officer to support weed and pest animal management across natural areas, parks and reserves. You will help protect biodiversity and improve environmental outcomes for the community through planning, inspections and on-ground control work.

You’ll bring experience in environmental management, conservation, bush regeneration or related fields, with strong communication skills and a commitment to safe, sustainable work practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental management, conservation, bush regeneration, horticulture or related field.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to safe and sustainable work practices.
• Outdoor work experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and delivery of weed and pest animal management programs.
• Undertake inspections, surveys, monitoring activities and on-ground control works.
• Provide advice and education to residents, contractors and community groups.
• Support environmental projects and grant-funded initiatives that protect and enhance Council's natural assets.
