Job summary

Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development NSW – Wollongbar NSW is seeking a Farm Assistant to work closely with the Farm Manager across crops, pasture, horticulture and livestock, helping maintain research trials and farm assets.

You will perform practical tasks such as livestock handling, irrigation, spraying, harvesting, machinery operation and maintenance, fencing and data recording. No two days are the same, with onsite work and a supportive farm team.

Qualifications

• Experience with livestock handling, husbandry or orchard operations.
• Ability to operate and maintain tractors and farm equipment.
• Capable of fencing, grounds maintenance and farm repairs.
• Accurate recording of stock, chemical, machinery and operational data.

Responsibilities

• Assist with livestock handling, irrigation, spraying and harvesting.
