The Family Relationships Program operates within the Family Law System and includes the Cafs Children's Contact Service and Post Separation Co-operative Parenting Program. The Children's Contact Service provides a safe, neutral environment for children of separated parents to have contact with a parent or family member, including supervised visits and changeovers where required.
The Post Separation Co-operative Parenting Program supports separated or divorced families experiencing high conflict to develop child-focused parenting arrangements, understand the impact of conflict on children and build more constructive ways of communicating. Services are delivered individually and in groups, during and after hours, with the aim of helping families move toward safe, self-managed arrangements and avoid further court or litigation wherever possible.
As a Family Relationships Practitioner, you will work across both programs to support separated families with children's contact and parenting interventions. You will provide child-focused, child-inclusive and trauma-aware support while navigating complex family dynamics and maintaining a safe, neutral service environment.
This specialised role will strengthen your capability in risk assessment, conflict de-escalation, structured decision-making and assisting group facilitation. You will contribute to reflective case reviews and support service allocation and demand meetings.
At Cafs, you'll join a supportive and inclusive organisation where your contribution genuinely matters.
Inclusion and diversity are at the heart of everything we do at Cafs. We welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, members of the LGBTIQA+ community and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
