Job summary

Burbank & Brown Lawyers and Conveyancers in Nowra, NSW seeks a solicitor with 2+ years PQE in family law to work closely with the Principal Solicitor on complex parenting disputes and financial matters. You will gain hands-on experience, develop advocacy confidence, and build strong drafting skills from the start.

You will run your own files with supervision, attend court and mediations, and mentor junior staff while contributing to new matters for a growing firm on the beautiful South Coast.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years PQE in family law.

Responsibilities

• Managing your own matters with appropriate supervision.
• Drafting Court documents including Initiating Applications and Affidavits.
• Preparing financial disclosure and evidence.
• Attending Court, mediations and conciliations.
• Briefing and liaising with Counsel.
• Conducting legal research.
• Meeting directly with clients and guiding them through difficult situations.
• Preparing Applications for Consent Orders.

You will work closely with the Principal Solicitor, a highly strategic family lawyer who handles a wide range of matters - from complex parenting disputes and/or complex financial cases. You will gain hands‑on experience, develop advocacy confidence, and build strong drafting skills from the start.

You will be trusted to run your own files (with support), not micromanaged and given genuine opportunities to grow your career in a firm that is expanding.

What you will be doing

• Managing your own matters with appropriate supervision
