Job summary

MployHR is seeking a reliable Production Operative/Factory Hand for a busy Melbourne manufacturing site. You will support various manufacturing, warehouse, and basic quality control activities, including material handling, weighing, milling, mixing, potting, and dispatching goods. Full training will be provided.

The role requires good mechanical aptitude, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work across different production functions. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience in manufacturing or production.
• Experience operating production machinery or dispensing equipment is highly regarded.
• Physically fit and able to perform repetitive tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and across different functions.
• Must have full Australian working rights.

Our client, a reputable manufacturing business based in Moorabin Vic, is seeking a reliable and hands‑on Production Operative/Factory Hand to join their growing operations team. With a strong focus on product quality, workplace safety, and operational efficiency, they are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and can contribute to the smooth day‑to‑day running of their manufacturing operations.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and physically fit Production Operative to support various manufacturing, warehouse, and basic quality control activities.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone with manufacturing experience, good mechanical aptitude, and a strong understanding of workplace safety. You will be involved in different stages of the production process, including raw material preparation, weighing, milling, mixing, potting, and handling goods.

Full training and guidance will be provided to suitable candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general manufacturing and production duties, including raw material selection, weighing, milling, mixing, decanting and repackaging ink, potting and general factory duties.

• Operate production machinery and dispensing equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.

• Follow production instructions and ensure products meet required quality specifications.

• Conduct basic quality control checks throughout the manufacturing process.

• Assist with receiving, handling, and dispatching goods.

• Move pallets and materials to and from designated production areas.

• Ensure all products, raw materials, and waste are correctly labelled, stored, and handled.

• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

• Follow all workplace health and safety (WHS) policies and procedures.

• Report any hazards, incidents, equipment issues, or quality concerns to the supervisor.

• Perform other production‑related duties as required by management.

Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (minimum 12 months preferred).

• Experience operating production machinery, dispensing equipment, or automated equipment is highly regarded.

• Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new processes.

• Physically fit and comfortable performing repetitive tasks and standing for extended periods.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.

• Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and take direction.

• A team player who can work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

• Good communication skills and a proactive approach to workplace safety.

• Flexible and willing to assist across different production and warehouse functions.

• Must be available to work occasional overtime, weekends, or outside normal working hours when required.
