Job summary

Sandhu & Chouhan Produce is seeking an experienced Facility Supervisor to lead the packing, grading, storage and dispatch operations in Bucca, NSW. You will oversee day-to-day activities, coordinate labour, and ensure compliance with food safety and QA standards.

You will manage post-harvest handling, monitor equipment and storage conditions, and drive improvements to reduce wastage while maintaining product quality and shelf life.

Qualifications

• AQF Cert III or Cert IV qualification.
• 2 years of farm experience in a similar role, or 3 years with formal training, or 5 years with no formal training.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day packing shed, grading areas, cold rooms and storage facilities.

Job description

Our Client, Sandhu & Chouhan Produce is seeking an experienced and motivated Facility Supervisor to join our established horticultural farming operation in Bucca, NSW.

Tasks Include:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of packing sheds, grading areas, cold rooms and storage facilities handling blueberries, raspberries and Lebanese cucumbers.
• Liaise with farm management to plan daily produce intake, labour requirements and packing schedules according to harvest volumes and operational requirements.
• Coordinate and supervise workers and seasonal staff involved in grading, packing, storage and other facility-based operations.
• Oversee sorting, grading and packing activities to ensure produce meets required quality, size, presentation and market standards.
• Monitor post-harvest handling, including pre-cooling, temperature control and storage conditions, to maintain produce freshness, quality and shelf life.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, biosecurity, waste management and quality assurance requirements across facility operations.
• Conduct regular inspections of packing areas, cold rooms, grading equipment and machinery and arrange maintenance or repairs as required.
• Oversee cleaning and sanitation of packing areas, equipment, cold rooms and storage facilities to maintain required hygiene standards.
• Manage stock levels of packaging materials, including punnets, cartons, liners and other operational supplies.
• Coordinate the storage, dispatch and transportation of packed produce to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of daily production, packed volumes, rejected or damaged produce, labour allocation and other quality assurance activities.
• Implement and monitor workplace health and safety procedures, including safe equipment operation, manual handling and facility work practices.
• Maintain required documentation and ensure facilities are prepared for quality audits, inspections and buyer requirements.
• Identify workflow and operational issues within packing and storage areas and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce wastage.
• Monitor facility operations to ensure consistent product quality and efficient movement of produce from receipt through to packing, storage and dispatch.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Have at least relevant AQF Cert III or Cert IV qualifications and Have 2 Years of working experience in a similar role in a farm setting. or equivalent or 3 years of employment experience with formal training OR 5 years of experience without formal training.
• Strong understanding of agricultural production processes.
• Attention to detail and quick decision-making to address quality issues, equipment failures, and operational challenges.
• Proficiency in quality control and adherence to standards.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to coordinate with various departments and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Possess a keen eye for detail to oversee product quality.
• Strong organizational skills are also essential for managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Salary- $75,000 - $85,000 per annum
