Swinburne University Of Technology is seeking an experienced Maintenance Officer to oversee campus buildings, facilities and infrastructure at the Hawthorn campus. You will coordinate maintenance works with contractors, ensure safety compliance and manage minor capital projects.

The role offers a full-time ongoing appointment with 17% superannuation and staff benefits. You will work with diverse teams to deliver high-quality facilities services for staff, students and visitors.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising contractors and coordinating maintenance works and campaigns.
• Experience in planned, backlog and reactive maintenance programs and delivering within time and budget.
• Ability to build professional relationships with university staff, government authorities and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and direction to contractors and consultants to ensure maintenance works and safety compliance are completed.
• Manage planned/backlog and reactive maintenance programs, prioritise projects and deliver on time and within budget.
• Build and sustain professional relationships with university staff, clients and authorities to enable best-value outcomes.
• Respond to emergency situations as required and appropriate.
• Verify Essential Safety Measures are maintained and test essential service items as needed.
• Develop submissions for minor works programs and manage to completion with minimal disruption.
