Job summary

Queensland Rail's SEQ Facilities team is seeking a Facilities Carpenter to maintain and refurbish facilities across the network. Based at the Qantas Drive facility in Brisbane, the role offers a rotating 2-week roster with day and afternoon/night shifts and a salary range of $82,000–$104,000 plus superannuation.

You will perform carpentry works across assets, plan activities, liaise with supervisors and customers, and use digital systems to record work.

Qualifications

Join Queensland Rail's SEQ Facilities team as a Facilities Carpenter and help maintain the buildings and infrastructure that support Queensland's rail network. From stations and depots to equipment rooms and residential properties, you'll play a key role in delivering safe, reliable and well-maintained facilities for our employees, customers and communities.

Based at our Qantas Drive facility in Brisbane, this fixed-term opportunity runs until 19 March 2027 and offers a diverse mix of maintenance, repair and construction work across a broad portfolio of assets.

About the role

As a Facilities Carpenter, you will:

  • Perform maintenance, repair and refurbishment works across Queensland Rail facilities assets.

Hours and Salary

This position operates on a rotating 2-week roster that includes:

  • Day shifts
  • Afternoon/night shifts

A Facilities Carpenter can earn between $82,000 and $104,000 plus superannuation under the current roster, not including applicable allowances and penalty rates.

There is also an on-call requirement, with participation in a rotating roster of approximately one week every 5-9 weeks.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current Australian Driver Licence.
  • Demonstrated experience carrying out carpentry works in accordance with relevant building codes, standards and legislation.
