Job summary

West Gippsland Healthcare Group in Warragul, Victoria, seeks experienced Emergency Medicine Consultants for permanent part-time roles in a 24‑hour ED. The department is ACEM‑accredited and serves a diverse rural community about 100 km east of Melbourne.

Consultants are rostered from 7:30 am to 11:00 pm, provide after-hours on‑call, and work with interns, residents, GP registrars and on‑call physicians to deliver high‑quality emergency care.

Qualifications

• Fellowship of the Australian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) is required.
• Specialist registration with AHPRA is required.
• Experience in managing both adult and pediatric emergencies with advanced resuscitation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency medical care within approved scope as an Emergency Medicine specialist.
• Ensure timely patient assessment and flow in a busy ED.
• Collaborate with interns, residents, GP registrars and on‑call specialists to deliver high‑quality care.
