Job description

UGL have an opportunity for experienced Fabric Maintenance Technicians (Offshore Blaster / Painters) to join our team on the FPSO Pyrenees unit in the Pyrenees field.

The Pyrenees field is located in Permit WA-12-R, in the Exmouth Sub‑basin portion of the Carnarvon Basin approximately 45 km northwest of Exmouth, Western Australia.

The FPSO Pyrenees Venture is capable of processing 96,000 barrels of oil per day, combined gas lift/re‑injection capacity of 60 million cubic feet per day and having an oil storage capacity of approximately 850,000 barrels. The FPSO is installed in 200 m water depth.

  • 3:3 roster
  • 12‑hour days
  • Paid travel from Perth to FPSO Pyrenees

Mandatory requirements
  • Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application (MSM30216 or MSA30309) OR Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Surface finishing) (MEM31922, MEM30319, or MEM30305)
  • IRATA Rope Access Level 1 – minimum (>500 hrs) or held for 6 months with continuous work off ropes
  • Offshore experience: power‑tool cleaning, abrasive blasting & painting on decks and off ropes
  • BOSIET/CAEBS
  • MSIC
  • Industry Safety Induction course completion or >12 months in the last 2 years in the Australian Oil and Gas Industry – experienced worker declaration route
  • Confined space entry
  • Working at heights
Desirable requirements
  • STOPAQ application (can be renewed if expired, as long as experience is there)
  • HUMIDUR training (can be renewed if expired, as long as experience is there)
  • AMPP certifications (formerly NACE)
  • MSMSS00017 – use high‑pressure water jetting equipment (assistant operator)
  • MSMSS00018 – operate a high‑pressure water jetting system (operator)
