EY-Parthenon in Sydney is seeking a Manager to join the Valuation Modelling and Economics (VME) team. You will lead valuation projects for transactions, financial reporting and strategic planning. You will oversee models, reports, and analyses, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

As a Manager, you will join our Valuation Modelling and Economics (VME) team within EY-Parthenon. As part of a global team of 10,000 professionals in 100 countries you will advise clients on preserving, optimising, raising or investing capital. Major groups (or, as we call them, sub-service lines and competencies) within SaT include Mergers and Acquisitions, Project Finance, Corporate Restructuring, Operational Transaction Services, Transaction Support, Transaction Tax and Valuation, Valuation Modelling and Economics.

You will support clients regarding valuation matters in various contexts including for transactions, portfolio assessment & optimisation, restructuring and strategic planning. This work usually assists clients in addressing matters relating to commercial, financial reporting, tax, regulatory matters or strategy.

This is a hybrid role based in Warrang - Sydney.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead project teams to undertake valuations of businesses, equity interests, financial instruments and intangible assets. Your work will be for various purposes including pre- and post- transaction advisory, tax-related purposes, financial reporting such as purchase price allocations, impairment testing, and employee share schemes, and disputes.
• Lead the delivery of valuation projects. This includes preparing valuation models and reports, including analysis of business value drivers and commercial rationale, industry analysis and market benchmarking, cost of capital analysis, identifying strategic value creation opportunities and other capital optimisation advise, and developing detailed financial models with various scenarios.
• Think critically, identify issues and propose strategies related to the advice being provided.
• Lead, coach and develop junior team members to build both their technical capabilities and interpersonal skills.

Skills And Attributes For Success

• A bachelor's degree and have at least 5-8 years of related work experience
• A degree in finance, economics, accounting or business, with demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis
• Direct experience utilising various valuation techniques and methodologies (cost of capital analysis, market comparables, discounted cash flow, etc) for different purposes
• Experience in financial modelling in MS Excel and related software preferred
• Experience conducting valuations for accounting and or tax planning purposes is desired
• Excellent analytical, communication, organisational, interpersonal, and teaming skills
• An open, curious mind which can help us to enhance the way we work and bring creative solutions to client’s problems.
