Job summary

PwC Australia is seeking a Senior Associate in the Private Clients team to deliver high-quality external audits for a diverse client base, ensuring regulatory compliance and strong financial reporting.

You will plan, execute, and document audits, evaluate controls, and communicate findings to clients and senior colleagues while contributing to continuous improvement and team development.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of external audit experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce/finance; CA qualification progress
  • Analytical skills to identify risks and apply judgement
  • Strong teamwork and willingness to learn from seniors
  • Clear communication of audit findings to clients and stakeholders
  • Foundational knowledge of auditing standards and regulatory requirements

What you’ll do:
  • Assist in planning and executing external audits of financial statements in compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
  • Conduct substantive testing and detailed audit procedures to identify risks and ensure accuracy.
  • Evaluate internal controls and financial processes to support audit objectives.

What we’re looking for:
Core skills:
  • Audit Expertise: Minimum 3 years of experience in external audit; ideally, one year as a Senior Auditor or equivalent with exposure to private clients, owner-managed businesses.
  • Bachelor's degree in commerce or finance, with progress toward or completion of a recognised CA qualification.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse financial information, identify risks, and apply professional judgement to audit processes
  • Teamwork and Development: Strong collaboration skills with a willingness to learn from and support senior colleagues
  • Communication Skills: Ability to prepare audit findings clearly and communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Industry Awareness and Regulatory Understanding: Foundational knowledge of auditing standards, financial reporting frameworks, and regulatory requirements, with a commitment to ongoing learning
