Job summary

PwC Australia is seeking a Manager to lead Adelaide Audit engagements, guiding teams to deliver high-quality external audits and help clients meet regulatory requirements.

You will own complex audits, supervise teams, assess risks, and communicate findings to senior stakeholders while driving improvements in efficiency and client experience.

Qualifications

• Australian Government security clearance required.
• 4–6 years external audit experience, CA qualification preferred.
• Proven ability to lead and develop audit teams; manage multiple engagements.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution and completion of external audits of financial statements in compliance with standards.
• Supervise audit teams, coach staff, and ensure timely high‑quality deliverables.
• Assess financial statement risks via detailed audit procedures and substantive testing.

• Prepare and review concise audit reports and communicate findings with clients and stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance audit efficiency, quality, and client experience.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and manage the planning, execution, and completion of external audits of financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory and professional standards
• Supervise audit teams, provide coaching and development opportunities, and ensure high-quality and timely deliverables
• Identify and assess financial statement risks through detailed audit procedures and substantive testing, applying professional judgment
• Evaluate clients’ internal controls and risk management frameworks to support robust audit conclusions
• Prepare and review clear and concise audit reports and communicate findings effectively with clients and senior stakeholders
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance audit efficiency, quality, and client experience
• Build strong client relationships, proactively resolving complex accounting and audit issues, and advising on best practices

What we’re looking for:

Core skills

• This role requires an Australian Government security clearance. You must be an Australian citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain this clearance.
• Financial Expertise: At least 4-6 years of experience in external audit, preferably with a recognised CA qualification
• Leadership and Management: Proven ability to lead and develop audit teams, manage multiple audit engagements and priorities, and deliver high-quality outcomes
• Client Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills to engage, influence, and build trust with senior client stakeholders
• Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of auditing standards, financial reporting frameworks, and regulatory requirements
• Problem Solving: Ability to analyse complex financial and business issues, exercise professional judgement, and provide practical recommendations
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex audit findings clearly to diverse audiences
