Job summary

A.B. Paterson College on the Gold Coast invites expressions of interest from passionate Junior School teachers for January 2027 start. You will deliver engaging, differentiated teaching across Prep to Year 6 and support the holistic development of students.

You will bring strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum, commitment to wellbeing, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Current Teacher Registration is required.

We are inviting Expressions of Interest from passionate and dedicated Teachers seeking teaching opportunities within our Junior School commencing in January 2027.

s a valued member of our teaching team, you will be committed to delivering engaging and innovative learning experiences that support the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of students. You will demonstrate a passion for fostering positive relationships and creating inclusive learning environments where every child can flourish.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated, and curriculum-aligned learning experiences that foster curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and a love of learning across Junior School year levels (Prep to Year 6).
2. Create safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environments that promote student wellbeing, positive behaviour, academic growth, and a strong sense of belonging.
3. Assess, monitor, and report on student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies, providing meaningful feedback to support individual learning needs and achievement.
4. Develop positive partnerships with students, parents, and carers, maintaining open communication to enhance learning outcomes and support the holistic development of each child.
5. Contribute actively to the College's pastoral care, co-curricular, and community programs, supporting the values and culture of the College.
6. Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement high-quality teaching and learning programs, share best practice, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence.
7. Integrate contemporary technologies and innovative teaching practices to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

What We’re Looking For:

• Demonstrated experience or a strong passion for teaching within a Junior School setting (Prep to Year 6).
• A thorough understanding of contemporary pedagogical practices and the Australian Curriculum.
• A strong commitment to student wellbeing, engagement, and academic excellence.
• The ability to build positive and productive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• A collaborative team member who contributes positively to College life and culture.
• A commitment to innovation, reflective practice, and ongoing professional growth.
• Up-to-date skills in the use of digital technologies and educational platforms to enhance teaching and learning.
• Current CPR and First Aid qualifications, or willingness to obtain.
• Current Teacher Registration is a requirement of this position.
