Job summary

Transit Systems NSW is seeking experienced NightRide bus drivers to join the South Granville NightRide team in Sydney. You’ll operate after-hours routes, delivering safe, friendly service while adhering to fatigue and safety requirements.

The role includes a mix of lines, occasional PM shifts, and opportunities for shift swaps with approval. You must hold NSW Bus Driver Authority, MR/HR licence and a Working with Children Check, with a strong safety mindset and customer-focused approach.

Join an essential Sydney service and help customers get home safely after hours.

Transit Systems is recruiting experienced Bus Drivers to join our NightRide team at South Granville. This is a great opportunity for drivers seeking additional shifts, provided these can be worked safely and without creating any fatigue-management breaches.

NightRide is an essential after-hours service that helps customers travel safely across Sydney after regular train services have finished for the day. If you enjoy working independently, take pride in excellent customer service and are comfortable with evening, overnight, weekend and public-holiday work, we would love to hear from you.

What you will be doing

• Safely operate NightRide services across Sydney.
• Deliver friendly, professional and reliable customer service to passengers travelling after hours.
• Complete pre- and post-trip vehicle checks and report any vehicle concerns promptly.
• Follow all safety, fatigue-management and operational requirements.
• Work across a combination of NightRide lines and routes, based on operational needs.
• Occasionally support PM shifts where required.

Roster and shift information

This role is primarily allocated to the NightRide roster.

• The NightRide roster operates Monday to Sunday on a weekly roster cycle.
• A minimum of two days off applies each week.
• Typical shift start times range from 5:30 pm to 11:55 pm.
• Typical shift finish times range from 4:00 am to 6:00 am.
• Shifts may include a combination of lines of work and routes.
• There are no split shifts or extended breaks.
• Shift swaps may be considered, subject to operational approval.
• While NightRide is the usual allocation, drivers may occasionally be rostered to PM shifts to support operational requirements.

About you

• You hold a current and valid NSW Bus Driver Authority card.
• You hold a current MR or HR driver licence.
• You have at least 12 months’ bus-driving experience.
• You hold a valid Working with Children Check.
• You have a clean driving history.
• You are willing and able to complete a police check and company medical assessment.
  You have a strong safety mindset and a genuine commitment to safe, respectful customer service.
• You can communicate calmly and professionally with customers, including using appropriate de-escalation techniques in challenging situations.
• You are reliable, professional and comfortable working independently.
• You are available to work flexible shifts, including evenings, overnight work, weekends and public holidays.
