Make a real difference in your community.

We are seeking an Exercise Physiologist to help people manage chronic and complex health conditions, build independence and improve their wellbeing through tailored exercise and education.

As a not-for-profit organisation, Better Health Network supports people and families at different stages of life and works with communities to strengthen health and wellbeing. We believe that better health and wellbeing is built around community.

About the role

Joining our Primary and Aged Care Allied Health program, you’ll work alongside physiotherapists, allied health assistants and other health professionals to deliver coordinated, person-centred care. You’ll provide individual and group services, while coordinating physical activity programs across BHN and community partner locations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing clients and developing evidence-based exercise programs that reflect their needs and goals.
  • Planning, delivering and evaluating individual and group programs, including strength, falls prevention, hydrotherapy and water exercise.
  • Providing education that helps clients manage their health and maintain safe, sustainable physical activity.
  • Coordinating program timetables, client pathways and regular program reviews.
  • Building relationships with local gyms, aquatic facilities, councils and other community partners.
  • Maintaining accurate client records and measuring outcomes.
  • Contributing to case reviews, quality improvement and service development.
About you

You’ll bring a practical, person-centred approach and experience supporting people with chronic conditions and complex needs. You’ll enjoy working collaboratively and helping clients make physical activity part of their everyday lives.

To be successful, you’ll bring:

  • A recognised qualification in Exercise Physiology or a related field that supports professional accreditation.
  • Current accreditation or registration with Exercise and Sports Science Australia as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.
  • Experience delivering exercise physiology services to people with chronic conditions and multiple or complex needs.
  • Experience planning, delivering and evaluating individual and group exercise programs.
  • Knowledge of chronic disease management, community health practice and the social model of health.
  • Strong communication, organisation and documentation skills.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and client management systems.

Experience in community health, hydrotherapy, program development and the local service environment would be highly regarded.

Bring your clinical skills to a community health setting where you can:

  • Deliver a varied mix of individual and group programs.
  • Work alongside physiotherapy and broader allied health colleagues.
  • Build connections with community organisations.
  • Contribute to the development of local physical activity programs.
  • Support meaningful improvements in clients’ health, independence and wellbeing.
Location

This role is primarily based at 335-337 Nepean Hwy, Parkdale VIC 3195 with centre-based and outreach services across BHN locations and community settings.
