Job summary

GSK Australia is seeking an experienced Country Medical Director to provide overarching leadership for Medical Affairs, shaping strategy and governance across Australia. You will lead a cross-therapy medical directorate, engage with healthcare professionals, external experts and regulators, and drive patient-focused outcomes in a highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Medical qualifications (MBBS/MD or equivalent) with significant pharmaceutical industry experience
• Extensive leadership experience across Medical Affairs and related medical functions
• Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams
• Strong strategic thinking, business acumen and stakeholder engagement capabilities
• Deep understanding of medical governance, compliance and patient safety requirements
• Experience operating within matrixed regional and global environments
• Exceptional communication and influencing skills

Responsibilities

• Lead the Australian Medical Directorate across multiple therapy areas and medical functions
• Shape and execute the medical strategy to support launches, lifecycle management and improved patient outcomes
• Provide medical leadership and governance across Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, Medical Information and Patient Safety
• Build strong relationships with healthcare professionals, external experts, government and industry stakeholders
• Partner with local, regional and global leaders to deliver business and patient impact
• Develop a high-performing and inclusive team culture focused on growth, excellence and accountability
• Drive operational effectiveness and continuous improvement across the Medical organisation
