The Position

Bairnsdale Regional Health Service (BRHS) is the largest healthcare provider in East Gippsland, supporting a vibrant and growing community of 55,000 people. BRHS is embarking on a significant transformation, streamlining executive leadership and strengthening partnerships across the Gippsland Health Service Network.

BRHS seeks to appoint a visionary and dynamic Executive Director Clinical Care to join the executive team. This pivotal role will lead a newly integrated portfolio, combining acute services, quality, and community, wellbeing and aged care. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Director will drive innovation in clinical models, patient flow, and service delivery ensuring safe, high‑quality care. A key part of this role will lead and support strategic planning, governance, and provide operational oversight of clinical, community, aged care, and quality functions. The Executive Director will foster a culture of empowerment, psychological safety, and continuous improvement, supporting emerging leaders and nurturing talent, whilst also ensuring cultural safety for all, including First Nations and marginalised communities.

The successful candidate will be a courageous, collaborative clinical senior leader with strategic vision, and a passion and commitment for quality. Championing innovation in models of care and integrated service delivery, the successful incumbent will build organisational capability and develop strong community engagement to deliver improved health outcomes for the community. A proven change agent and dynamic leader with the ability to influence and build productive relationships across multidisciplinary teams, the successful candidate will have a clinical nursing background with current professional registration with AHPRA.
