Swinburne University of Technology invites an accomplished academic leader to steer the School of Science, Computing and Emerging Technologies at Hawthorn. You will set strategic direction, oversee quality and financial sustainability, and advance education, research and industry partnerships.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will shape courses, strengthen research impact, and drive collaboration across disciplines to strengthen Swinburne’s Ad Astra strategy.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated profile as an international academic leader capable of cross-disciplinary leadership.
• Strong strategic, analytical and conceptual skills to implement university strategy.
• Proven ability to develop staff and research programs with national/international impact.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding student experience through high-quality teaching and course design.
• Strengthen research performance via collaborations, funding and postgraduate supervision.
• Build national and international partnerships for education, research and innovation.
• Develop staffing profiles and allocate workload strategically and cost-effectively.
• Take full P&L accountability, align budgets with strategic priorities and student load.
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative culture and uphold governance and integrity.
