The City of Busselton is seeking an Executive Assistant to the Mayor and Councillors to provide exceptional administrative and executive support in a fast‑paced, high‑profile environment.

About the role:

You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Mayor and Elected Members, ensuring seamless coordination of their schedules, events, and communications. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of the activities that shape our vibrant community.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide high‑level administrative and executive support to the Mayor and Councillors.
  • Manage correspondence, prepare official communications, and draft speech notes for community and stakeholder events.
  • Coordinate diaries, travel arrangements, itineraries, and event logistics.
  • Liaise with government agencies, dignitaries, and key stakeholders on behalf of the Mayor.
  • Coordinate civic and ceremonial functions, including citizenship ceremonies and Australia Day events.
  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive governance information.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Significant experience in executive support or high‑level administration.
  • Exceptional organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare speeches and presentations.
  • Strong understanding of local government governance and protocols.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools, with the ability to adapt to emerging technologies.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to work in a dynamic environment with discretion and professionalism.

Pre‑employment Requirements:

  • Current C Class Driver’s Licence.
  • National Police Clearance (less than six months old).
  • Proof of right to work in Australia.
  • Pre‑employment medical (arranged and paid for by the City)
