The Department of Health in Tasmania is seeking an Executive Assistant to support senior leaders delivering essential healthcare across Southern Tasmania. The role centers on recruitment support and ensuring compliance with awards, policy and industrial requirements.
It also provides high-level administrative and executive support, coordinates meetings, and prepares reports. Working with internal and external stakeholders, you’ll help ensure smooth operations and meaningful community impact
The Sub-Acute, Aged & Community Services (SAACS) executive and administrative team provide support to clinical specialties such as acute older persons units, geriatric evaluation and management, rehabilitation, palliative care, and associated services. These services work across several areas including at Royal Hobart Hospital, Repatriation Centre, community centres, district hospitals, and cover inpatient and outpatient services,
The Executive Assistant plays a key role in supporting senior leaders who deliver essential healthcare services across Southern Tasmania. A primary focus of this role is recruitment support, and the Executive Assistant provides advice and support to managers around recruitment practices, workforce management and compliance with relevant awards, local policy, and industrial requirements. Other aspects of the role may include providing high-level administrative and executive support, helping to coordinate meetings, manage information, prepare reports, and support a range of operational initiatives. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you’ll contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of services that make a real difference to the community.

Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 31 January 2028.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
$76,849 to $82,996 per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
