We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our growing team and play an important role in delivering high-quality projects across regional locations.
This is a hands-on role operating a 30-tonne Cat excavator, working alongside experienced site supervisors and project teams to complete excavation works safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.

As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for operating and managing excavator equipment across a variety of projects and site works. You will ensure all excavation activities are completed safely, efficiently and in line with project requirements, company procedures and industry standards.
Working closely with Site Supervisors, Operations Managers and project teams, you will contribute to successful project delivery while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and productivity.
Follow all Irritek WHS policies, procedures and safe work practices.
Complete risk assessments and required WHS documentation for each job.
Participate in WHS meetings and lead toolbox talks when required.
Maintain a strong safety-first approach across all work activities.
Operate a 30-tonne Cat excavator safely and efficiently.
Complete daily pre-start checks, maintenance inspections and servicing requirements.
Maintain equipment cleanliness, lubrication and refuelling requirements.
Assist with planned maintenance scheduling and reporting.
Complete excavation works including bulk earthworks, trenching, pipe laying and final trimming.
Safely operate a range of attachments including silt buckets, augers, rollers, digging buckets and rippers.
Ensure excavation works meet project specifications, safety requirements and quality expectations.
Review project plans and work closely with Operations Managers and Site Supervisors.
Adapt work methods and priorities based on site conditions and project requirements.
Travel to project sites and stay overnight when required.
Provide input and suggestions to improve excavation processes and project delivery.
Complete accurate daily timesheets and WHS documentation.
Read and interpret drawings, plans and project requirements.
Maintain clear communication with supervisors and team members.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience operating excavators and associated attachments.
Strong knowledge of excavation equipment operation and maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans and specifications.
Understanding of safety requirements and compliance standards.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
