Job summary

Nine Mile's APAC ETF Market Making team seeks a Trader based in Sydney to focus on Global Equity ETFs across APAC and global markets.

You will develop and execute trading strategies, apply ETF pricing models, manage basket risk, and collaborate with the market‑making team to exploit arbitrage opportunities across assets.

Proficiency in Python and a strong foundation in probability and statistics are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of trading experience at a High-Frequency Trading or Market Making firm, ideally with direct exposure to equity ETFs.
• Strong knowledge of ETF mechanics, pricing, NAV calculation, index replication, creation/redemption flows, and arbitrage strategies.
• Understanding of global equity market microstructure, index construction, and rebalancing dynamics.
• Proficiency in Python and strong numerical/statistical skills.

Responsibilities

• Developing and executing trading strategies across global equity ETFs spanning developed and emerging market indices, sectors, and thematic baskets.
• Applying advanced ETF pricing models, fair value calculation, and NAV estimation across multiple time zones and underlying equity markets.
• Managing basket risk and tracking error across diversified equity holdings, factoring in dividends, index rebalances, and corporate actions.
• Identifying and exploiting arbitrage opportunities between equity ETFs, their underlying baskets, futures, and related instruments.
• Researching and developing new systematic trading opportunities within global equity ETF markets.
• Collaborating closely with the broader market-making team.
• Designing, implementing, and enhancing algorithmic trading strategies and execution tools.
• Proactively engaging with regulators, issuers, exchanges, and brokers across the APAC region.

Join Nine Mile's APAC ETF Market Making team as a Trader, based in Sydney, with a primary focus on Global Equity ETFs across APAC and global markets.

What You Will Bring

• Understanding of global equity market microstructure, index construction, and rebalancing dynamics
• Proficiency in Python
• Highly advanced capability in probability and statistics
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• A genuine passion for financial markets, particularly systematic and quantitative trading
• Strong academic record in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Econometrics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
