Job summary

InsureBuild in Brisbane, Queensland, is seeking an Estimator to be the first point of contact for clients, homeowners and sub-contractors. You will conduct site assessments and prepare quotations for reinstatement works following insurable events such as fire, flood, or storm.

Applicants should have strong building knowledge, preferably a carpentry background, and excellent communication skills to liaise with insurers and homeowners.

Qualifications

• Strong technical building knowledge with a carpentry trade background preferred.
• Excellent time and organisational management with ability to work autonomously or in a team.
• Excellent communication skills with empathetic approach to customers.
• Insurance industry building experience is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments and quotations for property damaged by insurable events.
• Assess damage by collecting information to prepare accurate causation reports.
• Liaise between insurers and homeowners.
• Assist customer service with client queries.
• Ensure OH&S and legal compliance.
• Adhere to insurer and internal KPIs.

Job description

Established in 1996, InsureBuild has been servicing the insurance industry for over 29years, providing specialised insurance building repairs across Australia following an insurable event such as fire, flood, impact, storm, and malicious damage.

About the role

The Estimator is the first point of contact for our clients, their customer and our sub-contractors. The Estimator role involves carrying out the estimation for reinstatement works to both domestic and commercial buildings damaged caused by insurable events.

Role and responsibilities:

• Conduct site assessment and quotations for property damaged by insurable events, such as flood, fire etc.
• Assessing damage by collecting information to provide accurate causation reports
• An understanding of BCA and Australian standards is preferred
• Liaise between insurance companies and insured home owners.
• Assist customer service staff with client related queries.
• Compliance with OH&S and legal requirements
• Adherence to insurer and internal KPI's

Skills and experience

• Strong technical building knowledge with a qualified CarpentryTrade background preferred.
• Strong time and organisational management skills with the ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to be empathetic to the needs of the customer.
• Insurance industry building experience is considered an advantage but not essential.
• Proficiency in relevant report writing software and technology (Office 365, MS Teams, Prime Ecosystem).
• Must have a current and valid driver's licence, and white card.
