Help Build Australia’s Next Generation Naval Combat Systems
Work on cutting-edge Defence technology. Solve complex engineering challenges. Make a real impact.

Saab Australia is expanding its Naval Systems Delivery Group and is looking for talented Integration Engineers to help deliver Australia’s most advanced Naval Combat Systems.

If you enjoy integrating complex software, solving challenging technical problems and working with highly skilled engineering teams, this is an opportunity to contribute to technology that protects Australia’s national interests while building a long-term career with one of the country’s leading defence organisations.

About the Opportunity

As an Integration Engineer, you’ll work within multidisciplinary engineering teams responsible for integrating, configuring and validating software that is mission-essential, safety-critical and deployed on world-class naval platforms.

Working on the Saab 9LV Combat Management System, you’ll collaborate with software developers, systems engineers and test specialists to integrate complex software into realistic operational environments and support successful system delivery.

Every day presents new technical challenges—from Linux administration and containerised applications to networking, automation and system-level troubleshooting.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play an important role throughout the integration, verification, deployment and support phases of system delivery, including:

  • Integrating software into Linux-based integration and test environments
  • Configuring and maintaining virtual machines, servers and networking infrastructure
  • Deploying and supporting containerised applications using Docker
  • Troubleshooting software, infrastructure and integration issues
  • Supporting Test Readiness Reviews, Integration Testing and System Testing activities
  • Supporting customer system installation and troubleshooting
  • Producing integration documentation and technical procedures
  • Working collaboratively with software, systems and test engineering teams
  • Maintaining Jira tasks, effort estimates and defect records
  • Travel opportunities in supporting system installations and troubleshooting at customer sites.
What We’re Looking For
About You
  • A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance (NV1 or higher).
  • Eligibility to access ITAR-controlled information.
You’ll ideally bring experience in several of the following:
Professional Skills
  • IP networking
  • Docker
  • Version Control Tools, such as Git
  • Bash or Python scripting
  • Ansible
