As a Flight Instructor for the F-35 Program, you’ll serve as a trusted Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting pilot training, tactics development, and the evolution of next-generation air combat capability.

Your responsibilities will include :

Subject to program award

As an F-35 Flight Instructor, you will :
  • Serve as an F-35 Pilot SME, maintaining expert weapons system knowledge.
  • Deliver simulator-based training using the FMS and IOS.
  • Support pilot training, tactics development, and squadron force generation.
  • Prepare and reset training spaces and conduct student instruction and assessments.
  • Contribute to lesson updates, scenario design, and training improvements.
  • Provide Force Application support and assistance to all F-35 Squadrons.
About you : Essential :
  • Minimum RAAF Category B Qualified Flying Instructor, Operational Flying Instructor, Fighter Combat Instructor, or U.S. Air Force equivalent on 4th / 5th generation fighters.
  • 1,000+ hours fighter flight time on 4th and / or 5th generation aircraft.
Desirable :
  • Experience flying the F-22 or F-35.
  • Combat operations experience on a 4th or 5th generation fighter.
  • Expertise with advanced sensors (e.g., targeting pods, HMD systems).
  • Leadership experience as Flight Commander, Duty Flight Commander, or in operational planning.
Special Requirements :

Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
