Job summary

St John of God Bendigo Hospital is seeking a dedicated housekeeping professional to join our team. You will perform ward cleaning, bed making and waste disposal, helping maintain a safe, clean environment for patients and caregivers.

Full adherence to infection control, OH&S and cleaning protocols is essential, with strong communication, initiative and reliability required to support nursing staff and hospital operations.

Qualifications

• Understanding of occupational safety and health practices, infection control and housekeeping protocols.
• Basic knowledge of chemical usage, cleaning equipment and OH&S requirements.
• Demonstrates communication skills, relates well with others and shows initiative, motivation and confidence.

• Escorts patients to discharge office when requested.
• Reports any maintenance / supply needs as necessary.

Your Role at St John of God Bendigo Hospital

You will perform housekeeping duties within the unit, or the wider hospital as required and ensure that the environment and surfaces are free of microbes and not a source of infection to patients and caregivers.

Applications will be considered for positions as they become available over the next six months.

You will have an understanding of occupational safety and health practices, infection control and housekeeping protocols, whilst maintaining a high level of cleaning skills.

To succeed you will basic knowledge of and experience with chemical usage, cleaning equipment and OH&S requirements. You will demonstrate communication skills, relate well with other people and demonstrate initiative, motivation & confidence.
