Job summary

L+R Consulting is seeking an Environmental Scientist - Contaminated Land to support environmental management across projects in Brisbane. You will work closely with project leaders, construction teams and contractors to identify and manage environmental risks and ensure compliance, bringing practical and self-sufficient approaches.

The role requires 2–3 years' contaminated land experience, a relevant science degree, and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years' experience in contaminated land is required.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science/engineering or soil science.
• Proven report writing skills.
• Full Australian Driver's Licence.
• Willingness to travel.
• Experience with GIS software is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Execute environmental assessments, monitoring and remediation programs with field data collection (soil, soil gas/vapour, groundwater).
• Prepare environmental reports and contribute to client proposals.
• Support project managers and maintain open communication in the field.

Your Role
As Environment Scientist - Contaminated Land you will support environmental management across projects, working closely with project leaders, construction teams and contractors to identify and manage environmental risks, ensure compliance and drive positive environmental outcomes. You will be someone who is self-sufficient and practical.

You’ll:

• Executing environmental assessments, monitoring and remediation programs involving the collection of field data (soil, soil gas/vapour, groundwater).
• Providing inputs and preparing environmental reports.
• Assist with preparing client proposals.
• Supporting project managers and ensuring open and clear communications when in the field.

What You’ll Bring

• 2-3 years' experience in contaminated land field is required;
• Relevant tertiary qualification (geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, environmental engineering, soil science or other related science subject degree);
• Building effective working relationships with clients, project teams, disciplines and business units;
• Full Australian Drivers Licence issued;
• Proven report writing skills;
• Willingness to travel; and
• Experience with GIS Software's – desirable.
