Job summary

Snowy Hydro seeks an Environmental Assurance Officer for the Snowy 2.0 project team onsite. You will drive environmental management obligations, planning approvals, and contractor compliance as part of the owners team, ensuring incidents are managed and reporting is robust.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's with Environmental Specialisation and have auditing experience in civil construction, tunneling or mining, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and work within a dynamic

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with Environmental Specialisation (or related discipline).
Experience in civil construction, tunneling or mining.
Proven hands-on experience in planning and implementing site environmental audits.
Ability to manage change in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment and to assist others accordingly.

Responsibilities

Assurance & Compliance: Monitor and review Contractor's Environmental Management Strategy and Sub Plans to ensure environmental obligations are discharged.
Auditing & Reporting: Develop and implement inspection and audit programs; manage project reporting matrix for external reporting.
Incident Management: Oversee incident reporting and notification processes with site teams and contractors.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with regulatory authorities; review contractor correspondence and provide input into long-term environmental decisions.
Awareness & Monitoring: Implement workforce engagement programs and improve monitoring programs to be retained by Snowy Hydro.
