About the role:

The Secondary School Teacher is a critical member of the Academic Team. The role is primarily responsible for:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons that foster student learning, criticalthinking, and a love for learning.
  • Provide pastoral care and guidance to support students’ academic,social, and emotional growth.
  • Uphold strong classroom management practices to ensure a safe,respectful, and inclusive space for all students.
  • Work closely with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community toenhance student outcomes and school culture.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, commitment to professional development,and alignment with the Christian values and educational ethos of theCollege.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive school culture that supportsstudent engagement and growth.

Experience
  • Proven experience teaching at the secondary school level, ideally including Years 7–12.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing curriculum in alignment with the NSWcurriculum
  • Experience in assessing and reporting on student learning, using a variety of tools andstrategies.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a positive, supportive learningenvironment.
  • Competence in using technology and digital tools to enhance student engagement andlearning outcomes.
  • Participation in co-curricular or extracurricular activities, camps, or school events
Essential criteria:
  • Four-year tertiary qualifications such as Bachelor of Education or equivalent
  • Conditional, provisional or proficient registration with NESA
  • First aid certification
  • NSW Working with Children Check
  • Criminal History Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes)
