Job summary

Isaac Regional Council is seeking an experienced civil infrastructure leader to oversee planning, design coordination, and capital delivery for a diverse regional portfolio. You will lead a growing team, scope requirements with consultants, and drive value across transport and water projects while balancing community and commercial needs.

Qualifications

• Ten years plus civil engineering experience or equivalent
• Proven leadership of engineering and technical staff
• Strong capability in infrastructure planning and capital program development
• Experience managing external design consultants and construction standards

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach engineering and technical staff to build a performance culture
• Develop 5-, 10- and 20-year infrastructure priorities and capital works programs
• Coordinate infrastructure planning, asset renewals and delivery of transport and water capital projects
• Manage external design consultants, technical specifications and engineering reports
• Oversee heavy vehicle access approvals, road corridor access and infrastructure agreements with industry
• Provide engineering input into development and operational works assessments with planning teams
• Coordinate bridge inspections and oversight of aerodromes and landing areas
• Identify grant opportunities and prepare funding submissions
• Build relationships with government agencies, industry, contractors, elected representatives and communities
