Job summary

Tennis Australia is seeking an Engineering Manager, Data & AI in Melbourne to lead the enterprise data & AI platform strategy, governance and delivery. You will build reliable, scalable data & AI services, drive platform governance and empower analytics, AI adoption and data-driven decision making.

You will lead a high-performing engineering team, champion modern practices, and partner with stakeholders to realise the organisation's data ambitions. This role is based on-site in Melbourne.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years' experience in Data/Platform/Cloud or Software Engineering environments.
  • Proven experience leading and developing engineering teams.
  • Experience building and operating enterprise-scale data platforms.
  • Experience developing platform roadmaps and modernisation initiatives.
  • Experience embedding governance, security and operational controls into engineering delivery.

  • Develop Platform Strategy & Roadmap: Own Tennis Australia’s Data & AI roadmap and strategy; define and evolve enterprise data, analytics, and AI architecture.
  • Platform Engineering & Operations: Lead and optimise enterprise Data & AI platforms; ensure platform reliability, security and scalability.
  • Data, AI & Governance Enablement: Embed governance, security, and data quality into platforms; enable trusted data and AI with strong controls.
  • Engineering Leadership & Capability Development: Lead and grow the Data & AI Engineering team; set standards and drive accountability, innovation and growth.

This role leads the development, operation and continuous evolution of enterprise data and AI platforms, ensuring the organisation has secure, scalable and trusted capabilities to accelerate analytics, AI adoption and data-driven decision making. Working closely with the Head of Data Analytics & Insights, AI Enablement Lead, the Engineering Manager will establish and execute a long-term platform roadmap, deliver operational excellence across data and AI services, and build the engineering capabilities required to support Tennis Australia's future ambitions.
