Job summary

splose is seeking a senior SRE/Infrastructure leader who combines hands-on cloud prowess with strategic governance. You will own Reliability and Data lenses, commission Security, and support the CTO on Architecture while mentoring senior engineers and external vendors.

You’ll balance enablement with prudent roadmaps, manage a small team, and stay hands-on around 30% of the time, ensuring robust IT operations and secure, scalable SaaS delivery.

Qualifications

• Deep, current hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure and SRE, credible to own Reliability lens.
• Experience leading senior specialists and directing consultants and managed-service vendors.
• Track record of enablement by attraction, not mandate.
• Working fluency in security and data engineering to author a Data lens with input.

Responsibilities

• Author a charter, maturity model and learning pathway for the SRE/Infrastructure and Data lenses.
• Build paved roads, not mandates: tied to named teams with adoption targets.
• Run one prioritised portfolio across four lenses, aligning with delivery calendar.
• Hire, coach and grow reports, direct Data Engineer consultants and vendors.
• Stay hands-on (~30%): Terraform and infrastructure work, ADRs, S1/S2 rotation.
• Own coding standards, incident response plan, CI gates and on-call design.
• Run the policy secretariat: register, template, cadence and evidence.
