Job summary

Dyno Nobel is seeking a Static Equipment Engineer for the Moranbah Operations team. You will develop maintenance strategies for static assets, manage integrity programs, and lead investigations to drive reliability.

Reporting to the Lead Static Equipment Engineer, you will contribute to risk-based decisions and continuous improvement across site assets. The role offers a collaborative, safety-focused environment with opportunities for career development and engagement with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Materials or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience in Petrochemical/Manufacturing/Oil & Gas or heavy industry preferred.
  • Exposure to ammonia/nitric acid/AN plants highly regarded.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimise maintenance and inspection strategies for static equipment assets.
  • Support asset integrity programs and ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Lead equipment failure investigations and implement reliability improvements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and engineering studies to improve performance.
  • Support turnaround planning, scope development and execution.
  • Collaborate with site teams to identify and implement improvement projects.

The Role

We are looking for a Static Equipment Engineer to join our Moranbah Operations team. Reporting to the Lead Static Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the static equipment function across site through the development of maintenance and reliability strategies, asset integrity management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Developing and optimising maintenance and inspection strategies for static equipment assets
  • Supporting asset integrity programs and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and statutory requirements
  • Leading equipment failure investigations and implementing reliability improvement initiatives
  • Conducting risk assessments, inspections and engineering studies to improve equipment performance
  • Supporting turnaround planning, scope development and execution activities
  • Collaborating with site teams to identify, evaluate and implement improvement projects
What You'll Bring
  • You must be committed to positively contributing to our safe, inclusive and high-performance culture
  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Materials or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience working within a Petrochemical, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas processing industry or heavy industrial environment (Desirable)
  • Exposure to Ammonia plant or Nitric Acid/Ammonium Nitrate plant is Highly preferred
  • Experience in pressure equipment reliability, asset integrity and inspection programs
  • Knowledge of failure mechanisms, materials, welding processes and engineering standards relating to static equipment
  • Experience with reliability-centred maintenance, risk-based maintenance and root cause analysis methodologies
  • RPEQ, CPEng, NPER, AICIP or API qualifications will be highly regarded
