Job summary

Gold Fields is looking for a Mine Planning Engineer to deliver short‑ and medium‑term planning for underground operations. The role supports safety, production and cost targets and operates on an 8 days on / 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth.

Permanent role with exposure to world‑class mines; strong knowledge of Deswik CAD, Deswik Scheduler and Ventsim is desirable. WA FCMM certification is preferred. Salary and incentive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to mining and WA FCMM certification.
• Strong underground mining experience, ideally in gold.
• Proficiency with mining software: Deswik CAD, Deswik Scheduler, Ventsim.
• Valid manual driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate short- to medium-term mine plans that support objectives and LOM timeframes.
• Review economic evaluations for each mine design to ensure financial objectives are met.
• Ensure mine plans consider ventilation, infrastructure, DnB and paste fill needs.
• Prepare stope designs, declines, escapeways and level plan layouts, and mining instructions aligned with the schedule.
• Create infrastructure plans and schedules aligned with mining interactions and budgets.
• Provide timely planning guidance for the mining department production schedules.
• Collaborate across departments to support key projects.

Reporting to the Senior Engineer: Mine Planning, you will deliver short-and medium-term planning and scheduling for underground operations to meet safety, production and cost targets aligned with Agnew’s strategic objectives. This role is offered on 8 days on 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth

What You’ll Do

• Develop accurate short to medium term mine plans that support operational objectives and LOM timeframes.
• Review economic evaluations for each mine design completed within the Engineering Team to ensure financial objectives are met under determined cut-off grades
• Ensure mine plans consider ventilation, infrastructure, DnB and paste fill needs
• Prepare stope designs, decline, escapeways and level plan layouts, and mining instructions aligned with operational mining schedule.
• Create infrastructure plans and schedules aligned with mining interactions and budget constraints
• Providing timely and accurate planning guidance for the delivery of the mining department production schedules.
• Collaborate across departments to support key projects.

What You’ll Bring

• Tertiary Qualifications in Mining Engineering, or a related discipline
• Strong knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to mining and ability to obtain WA FCMM Certificate (UG time completed).
• Strong underground engineering experience, ideally in gold.
• Proficiency in MS Office and mining software (Deswik CAD, Deswik Scheduler, Ventsim)
• Manual Driver’s license
