Job summary

MMG Dugald River is seeking an experienced Mining Engineer to support underground production planning and execution. Reporting to the Senior Mine Planning Engineer, you will develop and maintain mine plans, designs and schedules to meet development targets.

You will translate long-term plans into practical short- and medium-term programs, perform QAQC, and support business improvement initiatives while aligning with MMG values and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of underground metalliferous mining experience.
• Strong mine scheduling and planning experience.
• Underground practical experience desirable.
• Bachelor degree in Mining Engineering required.
• QESC clearance preferred.
• Manual driver's license required.
• Familiarity with Deswik CAD and schedules is beneficial.
• Ability to collaborate with operations, geology, ventilation, and survey teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain mine operating plans, designs, schedules, and budget inputs.
• Produce stope notes, development designs, and planning documentation.
• Support weekly and 13-week planning schedules.
• Translate long-term plans into medium/short-term execution plans.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for experienced and ambitious Mining Engineer to join our team at Dugald River Mine.

Reporting to the Senior Mine Planning Engineer, you will ensure production activities are supported with appropriate plans and subsequent reports in alignment with the delivery of development and production targets.

This role will be based on an 8/6 roster, drive in drive out (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mount Isa or fly in fly out (FIFO) from Townsville or Brisbane.,

• Develop and maintain accurate, timely mine operating plans, designs, schedules, and budget inputs.
• Produce stope notes, development designs, and supporting planning documentation.
• Support the preparation and delivery of weekly and 13-week planning schedules.
• Translate long-term mine plans into practical medium-term and short-term execution plans.
• Regular QAQC to ensure work is delivered in alignment with plan.
• Provide support for business improvement initiatives.
• Consistently demonstrate behaviours that align with MMG Values and Code of Conduct.

About the Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will be a strong performer with the ability to lead through positive actions. You will have great ability to engage and manage stakeholders at all levels; while having strong Underground mining experience with a practical understanding of underground drainage, power, air, water, ventilation and backfill techniques.

• Minimum of 2 years underground metalliferous mining experience
• Technical experience, especially in mine scheduling and planning experience, will be well regarded.
• Practical underground experience will be well regarded.
• Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering (Essential).
• Queensland Explosives Security Clearance (QESC) will be well regarded.
• Manual Drivers license (Essential).
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of Deswik CAD and Sched. Deswik Ops is beneficial.
• Ability to work collaboratively with mining operations, geology, geotechnical, ventilation, short-term engineers and survey.
