Job description

Lewis & Grey is a strategic advisory firm operating at the intersection of technology and law and behavioral finance. We are not a crisis communications agency. We are a reputation defense firm that treats public perception as a financial asset. We protect the intangible value of high performing organizations and individuals. Our mandate is to align public perception with operational reality through a methodology of neuro linguistic reputation defense. We reject the vanity metrics of traditional PR in favor of policy precision and algorithmic congruency. We serve a client base that demands absolute confidentiality including venture capital firms and sovereign entities and Fortune 500 executive committees.

The Mandate

The Engagement Manager for Special Situations is the primary tactical lead for our most volatile accounts. You will be the first point of contact when a reputation crisis moves from a risk to an active event. This is not a role for a passive administrator. You are the architect of stability in a chaotic environment.

In this role you will manage the delivery of our "Removal Protocol" and "Hallucination Displacement" strategies during live crises. You will act as the interface between our technical analysts and the client executive team. Your mandate is to translate client anxiety into strategic action and to ensure that every intervention is executed with surgical precision and speed.

Primary Responsibilities
Crisis Stabilization and Triage

You will lead the initial intake and assessment of new crises. You will rapidly diagnose the threat vector whether it is a coordinated bot attack or a viral media smear or a regulatory leak. You will establish immediate containment protocols to stop the spread of reputational damage. You will provide the client with a clear and linear roadmap out of the crisis within the first four hours of engagement.

Operational Command

You will direct the cross functional teams of data scientists and legal analysts and writers. You will assign workstreams based on the specific "Terms of Service" violations identified. You will ensure that the "Clause Mapped Appeals" are drafted and submitted according to our strict quality standards. You will monitor the "calcification velocity" of negative content and adjust the strategy in real time to ensure displacement.

Client Counsel and Governance

You will serve as the daily advisor to the client point of contact. This is often a General Counsel or a Chief of Staff who is under extreme pressure. You will manage their expectations with radical transparency. You will deliver daily situation reports that focus on metrics and outcomes rather than activity. You will ensure that the client understands the difference between a "vanity metric" and a "financial impact."

Financial and Scope Management

You will manage the economics of the engagement. You will ensure that resources are allocated efficiently to the highest impact activities. You will identify when a crisis requires a scope expansion and you will negotiate the additional resources required to protect the client. You will view the engagement through the lens of asset protection and communicate value in terms of preserved valuation or liquidity.

The Candidate Profile

We are looking for a professional who combines high emotional intelligence with low emotional reactivity. You must be able to absorb the stress of the client without mirroring it.

Professional Pedigree

5 to 7 years of experience in management consulting, restructuring, crisis communications, or geopolitical risk analysis. Experience in "Special Situations" groups at major advisory firms is highly preferred.

Academic Background

An MBA or JD or equivalent advanced degree. You must be comfortable navigating complex legal and financial concepts.

Project Management

You have a proven ability to manage complex workstreams with tight deadlines. You are familiar with agile methodologies adapted for crisis response.

Client Exposure

You have a track record of advising senior executives during periods of high stress. You can deliver bad news with clarity and good news with caution.

Core Competencies
Emotional Ballast

You remain clinically detached in the face of panic. You provide a stabilizing presence to the client and the team. You focus on the procedure rather than the noise.

Tactical Agility

You can pivot the strategy instantly if the data changes. If a platform rejects an appeal you immediately formulate the escalation path. You do not get stuck on the first obstacle.

You understand the value of discretion. You practice strict information hygiene. You communicate with precision and avoid speculation.

Outcome Orientation

You are not satisfied with "trying." You are satisfied with "removal." You measure success by the cleanliness of the search result and the silence of the noise.

The Value Proposition

This role places you at the center of the storm with the tools to control it.

High Visibility

You will manage the firm's most critical relationships. You will be the face of Lewis & Grey to the market during defining moments.

Strategic Autonomy

You will have the authority to direct resources and define strategy. You are not a messenger. You are a commander.

Mastery of Defense

You will learn the proprietary methodologies that make Lewis & Grey the leader in this field. You will become an expert in the mechanics of modern reputation.

Location & Compensation

The role is based in our primary hub with the requirement for rapid deployment if necessary. We offer a competitive base salary and a performance bonus structure tied to client retention and successful crisis resolution.
